The mid-sized and nice building of the Modesto Poker Room & Casino, which is run by the Empire Sportsmen's Association, is a bit removed to the north of Modesto.
No slot machines or video gaming terminal can be found in the place, which is focused on card gaming. No worry though, as you can play some great casino games, like Blackjack or Pai Gow Poker.
Although the place is only open to members, membership is completely free and the application nothing but a mere formality.
