If you want to stay in Altoona, i would recommend Prairie Meadows Hotel. It was my first time with my wife in this resort and we were very satisfied ! The room was very huge/modern/clean, there was tv etc.. At the casino we were not very lucky… but we had fun ! Many machines and tables are available.
