Thursday 8th of December at 11pm, the new MGM National Harbor opened its doors to the public and only 45 minutes later, the place reached full capacity, creating huge crowded roadway conditions!


The grand opening of the new MGM National Harbor casino was an amazing success, to say the least. The luxurious and shinning venue located just 25 minutes from Washington DC reached its full capacity in 45 minutes only.


An incredible fact, knowing that the maximum capacity of the venue is 9,000 persons! That night, people never stopped coming to visit the new gaming establishments of the MGM group.


The highways around were rapidly crowed and officials of Prince George County decided to close some roads and recommended the visitors to turn back, as the Washington Times says.


At 2am, the casino was closed and hundreds of visitors were left outside. The next day in the afternoon, the casino reached its full capacity again.


According to wjla.com, the MGM National Harbor urged people who do not have reservations at the restaurants or hotel to stay away from the new venue during the entire weekend.


This success could be easily explained by the quality of services and gambling offers of the new jewel of the MGM Group that is located just 25 minutes from Washington DC on the banks of the Potomac River.


The 125,000 square feet casino is open 24/7 and features 3,300 slot machines and 140 gaming tables including 39 poker tables, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, an Asian theme gaming area and 2 high limit gaming areas.


The venue provides also a luxury hotel featuring 308 rooms and suites going from 440 to 3,210 square feet. The décor used is mainly inspired by water and forest, and provide stunning views of the region. The guest can also find a luxury spa, fitness center and rooftop pools.


The gourmet will be pleased to know that the culinary offer is exceptional thanks to its 9 distinct restaurants boasting upscale flavors and menus elaborated by top-chefs José Andrès, Marcus Samuelsson or Bryan and Michael Voltaggio.

The MGM group stated that the objective is to attract not less than 25,000 visitors per day, that is to say 9,1 million a year!
